Britons increasingly targeted under European arrest scheme

Jago Russell, Chief Executive of Fair Trials International, said: “With the UK extraditing around 1,000 people a year to other EU countries, there cannot be many MPs who do not have constituents that are affected.
“There is a growing consensus that the Government must act to avoid further tragic cases of injustice and we are delighted that Parliament will finally have the chance to vote for reform.”However, the US authorities have insisted the arrangements are fair and promote justice in both countries.
