Verdicts in Ghana

November 15 2007

Sabine Zanker, Head of the Legal Team at Fair Trials International, will attend the District Court (Juvenile Court), Greater Accra region in Ghana to hear the verdict in the case of the two 16 year-old London girls charged with attempting to traffic a quantity of cocaine out of that country.

The verdict will be delivered to a closed court at 9:00AM local time. We have been advised a transcript of the verdict will be available upon application after it has been delivered.

Following the verdict, Sabine Zanker will deliver a statement on behalf of the families of the girls and she will be available for comment. This will take place immediately outside the court.

The girls and their families have advised us they will NOT be making any further comment or granting interviews. They ask that media respect their privacy.

Sabine Zanker will be in Ghana from Monday 19 November. Her mobile number in Ghana is 00 233 (0)242 165061
