European Young Defenders’ Network Training Programme
March 13 2008Justice campaigners invite fifty young criminal defence lawyers from across Europe for a legal training programme to promote the intrinsic value of sound criminal defence.
Fair Trials International (FTI)* is to host a week-long workshop at Nottingham University from 17 to 21 March 2008. The programme will provide participants with training in the fields of human rights, criminal law and advocacy.
Priscillia de Corson, Policy officer at FTI said “with the increasing mobility of individuals and the expansion of the European Union, cross border crimes are escalating. Legal practitioners need to be able to adapt to these developments, which can be extremely complex and challenging. It is therefore essential to equip young defenders with the knowledge and networking opportunities they require to become leaders in the field of human and defence rights protection.”
